Welcome to Go Deer!
I'm Saj Collyer — a lifelong maker, knitter, and primarily a dressmaker. With a background in music and a specialty in Balinese gamelan, I’ve spent many years teaching dressmaking and knitting at Social Fabric in Totnes, Devon. Eventually, this passion led me to start Go Deer — a small, craft-focused business offering courses, retreats, and creative events.

Stitch Fest by the Sea (July)
Stitch Fest South West (November) which is Devon’s biggest yarn festival since 2016

GO DEER's STORY

Now in our 9th year, Go Deer continues to grow! We were thrilled to open our lovely workshop studio at the Dartington Cider Press Centre in South Devon which is springing back to life with lots of creative new tenants.

Go Deer specialises in: Day courses, Craft retreats, One-off craft parties and unique creative events

Before the pandemic, Go Deer became known for our beloved Knitting & Stitching retreats — relaxing, inspiring weekends dedicated to your favourite craft, shared with like-minded people in beautiful surroundings. We’re excited to announce that these retreats are making a return in 2026!

Bookings are open for September 26 and watch out for more to be added soon!

For many years, I’ve also led trips to Bali, originally focused on music and dance. Since 2019, these journeys have expanded into a vibrant pick-and-mix experience, where you can explore silver jewellery-making, batik, yoga, cookery, music, dance, and more. (Visit our Bali page for details!)

Our accommodation is lovely, our hospitality second to none.
