About the event
In this fascinating class, with Caroline Bawn of Gorgeous Yarns, you will learn about natural dyes and how to use them with woollen yarn. Discover why some dyes last while others fade, explore growing and foraging for natural dye plants, and get hands-on experience with creating a dye bath, mordanting yarn, and setting up a solar dye jar. All materials are included.
Caroline is a natural dyer with over 10 years of experience creating and using natural dyes, and teaching workshops. She has written a book, The Natural Dyer's Almanac which is a through-the-year book of techniques and things to do to teach yourself more about this creative eco-craft. Caroline has also undertaken her Certificate of Achievement with the Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers.
