About the event
Introduction to Hand Spinning with a Drop Spindle with tutor Jean Fenton
Discover the ancient art of hand spinning in this relaxing and informative workshop. You’ll learn how to use a drop spindle, along with essential fleece and fibre preparation techniques to get started on your spinning journey.
As we practice together, I’ll share the rich and fascinating history of spinning and its role in traditional crafts through the ages.
Each participant will receive a spindle kit, complete with full instructions and practice fibres—all included in the cost.
Hand spinning is not only a practical and rewarding skill, but also a deeply mindful and therapeutic process. It offers a powerful connection to our ancestors—and there’s nothing quite like knitting, weaving, or crocheting with yarn you’ve spun yourself.
